Be Bold Be Big Campaign

As National Mentoring Month comes to a close, there are still hundreds of Arizona kids that are waiting for mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona is calling on you to Be Bold.

What does “Be Bold” mean? It means going out of your comfort zone, being vulnerable, being a trusted source and ally for someone that needs it. It means taking that next step to becoming a mentor and to make a positive impact in a child’s life.

“What does it take to be a Big?”

Anyone with a caring heart can serve as an impactful mentor to a child.

“Having a great role model in your life is remarkably powerful,” said Laura Capello, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. “As people are considering how to make positive changes in the new year, we are encouraging them to make the big resolution to get involved, better themselves and the life of a child.  Recruiting volunteers is one of our top priorities and this is a great time for people to get involved.”

There is a tremendous demand for male mentors across the state. With over 160 boys on our waiting list, potential Big Brothers are urged to step up and support local youth through one-to-one mentoring. By spending as little as 4 hours a month with your future Little, you can make a BIG difference. Just by showing up for these kids you can help them achieve their best possible futures. Take your first step to becoming a BIG by registering for volunteer information session HERE

Don’t think you’re quite ready to become a Big? No worries, there are plenty of other ways to Be Bold and help us find new Bigs in the community. You can advocate for us by spreading the word that male mentors are needed with your friends, families, and social groups or by hosting an informational session at your employer.
