Group Mentoring Partnership
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ) is excited to announce their partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley (BGCAZ)! In collaboration with BGCAZ, BBBSAZ is now able to offer their Group Mentoring Program at three Boy and Girls Club locations across the valley. One of those locations being at UMOM New Day Centers. Since launching in the summer of 2022, BBBSAZ has been able to serve and provide mentoring to over 200 youth residing at UMOM. In our Group Mentoring Programs, volunteers meet with 2-3 youth at a time at their designated site and participate in structured activities provided by a BBBS Program Specialist. Volunteers may or may not meet with the same youth each week and will have the opportunity to mentor multiple youth throughout their time in the program. Our Group Mentoring Program is a way for BBBSAZ to collaborate with other youth organizations/non-profits and serve youth that we may not be able to reach in our traditional 1 to 1 mentoring program. Donation Center Partnership
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Donation Center has established valuable partnerships with numerous non-profit organizations throughout the valley, aimed at utilizing surplus clothing donations to provide much-needed funding and support. One such impactful collaboration is with UMOM. Through these partnerships, the BBBS Donation Center not only reduces clothing waste but also contributes to the betterment of the local community. The clothing provided by UMOM helps support the one-to-one mentorship programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
UMOM benefits in various ways as well. The financial support generated from clothing donations aids UMOM in sustaining and expanding their critical services, offering shelter, resources, and assistance to those in distress. The collaboration between BBBS Donation Center and UMOM exemplifies the positive impact that strategic partnerships can have in supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
