In this season of thankfulness, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ) extends our gratitude to our broader community that sustains our mission. Your unwavering support is pivotal to our mission. From local businesses, our Bigs, parents, and staff, each contribution helps us match more youth with caring adult mentors. The ongoing support from our network continues to show us the importance of mentoring and how this is a shared responsibility to ensure each child in our community reaches their full potential.
This season, we reflect on our past year and how incredible YOU have made it. Below are just some of the reasons why we are thankful for your ongoing support of BBBSAZ!
On November 15th, BBBSAZ was fortunate enough to host a cocktail-making class with Cocktail U of Arizona to say ‘thanks’ to a few of our donors. Donors learned how to muddle, pour, and shake two different specialty cocktails ahead of the holiday season. We are grateful to be able to give back to those who support us so much!
From October 16th through October 20th, more than 250 volunteers gathered to wash 700 cars at the 16th Annual Paul’s Pay It Forward Car Wash! Each year, Arizona’s Family Weather Anchor and Community Ambassador, Paul Horton, hosts Paul’s Car Wash, and this year, $208,328 was raised! Thank you to our sponsors, including Super Star Car Wash, Amazon, Waymo, Lerner & Rowe Gives Back, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., Bashas’ Family of Stores, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, and Cox!
On Saturday, September 23rd, the Young Professionals Council (YPC) hosted their signature event, Casino Night! In total, more than $25,000 was raised in support of BBBSAZ’s one-to-one mentoring programs!
On Saturday, July 22nd, BBBSAZ was privileged to host 30 families for a fun-filled back-to-school event. Each of the 65 youth in attendance received a brand-new backpack stuffed with school supplies. We are so thankful for the opportunity to give some of our Littles and their families a jump start into the 2023-2024 school year!!
We are so grateful to have had such a fantastic year! Because of your ongoing support, we have matched 180 youth to caring adult mentors this year alone. We can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!
