Big Night Out in the Valley

On Friday, February 18th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona hosted our annual Big Night Out In The Valley gala fundraiser at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn. The event welcomed over 700 guests all in celebration of our mentoring programs.

The evening began with a cocktail reception where guests could mingle, enjoy cocktails, and purchase Mystery Boxes stuffed with items donated from Valley restaurants, sports teams, and other local businesses. It also featured live red carpet interviews by Two Second Media, and a raffle for a 13-day adventure in Tanzania, courtesy of K2 Adventures Foundation and K2 Adventures Travel

For the main program, guests were escorted into the Valley-themed ballroom, accented with black, white, and purple decor. Attendees were introduced to the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission by event chairs, Nick and Krystal Boggs and Eric Bottolfsen. Emcee Paul Horton and Big Brother Drew Shaw encouraged those who were interested to learn more about becoming a Big to raise their paddles to get more information. Following dinner, auctiontainer Letitia Frye stepped up and encouraged attendees to donate to help BBBSAZ continue its mentorship work. Guests were then treated to videos of the Bigs of the Year explaining the impact that their Littles have had on their lives, and vice-versa. BBBSAZ President and CEO, Laura Capello, and Board Chair, Teresa Strunk, honored the Bigs of the Year with awards and recognition.

After the main program concluded, there was an After Party hosted by Best Dispensary. DJ Mr. P-body kept guests out on the dance floor all evening. Everyone was in the mood to celebrate the success of the event. There were also drinks, goodie bags, and a 360-degree photo booth.

The Big Night Out In The Valley was a huge success, raising a record-breaking $490,000! Click here to see this and other events from the BBBSAZ calendar.
