PHOENIX, Ariz. (August 10, 2020) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ), one of the largest Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in the United States, appoints a new Board Chair and welcomes a new Executive Committee.
Teresa Strunk will serve as the new Board Chair. Teresa has been passionately serving Big Brothers Big Sisters for nearly 15 years, first as a Big Sister in Washington State, then serving on the Young Professional Council of BBBSAZ after moving to Phoenix in 2009. Teresa served as YPC President before being elected to the Board of Directors in 2014. She has served on the Governance Committee, as Marketing Committee Chair, and she Co-Chaired the 2018 Big Night Out Gala.
In addition to her role with BBBS, Teresa and her husband, Casey, own a boutique benefits & HR consulting firm, Strunk Insurance Group. Teresa & the SIG team are committed to providing their clients the expertise and resources they need to develop and manage a successful employee benefits program. Teresa also loves spending time as a family with Casey and their two young daughters, traveling, fitness, cooking, & spending time with good friends.
BBBSAZ welcomes the following new Executive Committee members:
Jim Mapstead, Owner, Accurate Signs & Engraving Inc. has proudly served as a Board Member since 2015. Jim is a former Big Brother and was the Board Chair from 2018 to 2020, currently serving as the Immediate Past Chair.
Mike Suriano, CPA, is the CFO for Southwest Foodservice Excellence, LLC. Mike recently served as BBBS Treasurer and the Finance/Audit Committee Chair, and is currently the Agency’s Board Chair Elect.
LeAnn Rudolph, Partner with Eide Bailly LLP, joined the Board in 2019. LeAnn will serve as the BBBS Treasurer and the Finance/Audit Committee Chair.
Kim Wagie, MBA will serve as the Secretary and Program Committee Chair. Kim is Director, Digital Transformation with APS and serves as a current Big Sister.
Bruce Weber, President and CEO of Weber Group, will serve as the Governance Committee Chair. Bruce joined the Board in 2019 after serving as a consultant to the Agency for several years.
Brian Rosella, Senior VP, Land Specialist with Kidder Matthews, will serve as the Recruitment Committee Chair. He has served as a Board Member since 2015 and is a former Big Brother.
Nick Boggs, MBA, Founder of rise & thrive, LLC, will serve as an At-Large Executive Committee member. He joined the Board in 2017 and also serves on the Board Governance Committee. Nick is also a former Big Brother.
Brian Wempen, National Sales Manager at Cox Media, will serve as an At-Large Executive Committee member. Brian also serves on the new Recruitment Committee and is a former Big Brother.
