Thanks to friends like you, National Mentoring Month brought more new volunteers to Big Brothers Big Sisters. But of course as more people hear about us, the need for our help grows as well, especially for Big Brothers. Help us make even more matches to make dreams come true by volunteering or donating.

AZ CREW Career Day
Event Date: March 8

Looking for way to involve your Little Sister in preparing for her future?  The Arizona Commercial Real Estate Women (AZ CREW) is offing a special career event for Little Sisters, 14 years and older, and their Big Sister or parent. Limited to the first 30 matches.

No charge
Light breakfast and lunch provided
Free parking
Learn about diverse commercial real estate employment opportunities 
Visit a project in development (hard hat tour)
Lively, interactive day!

We need a signed student waiver from the parent of the Little and a non-student waiver from the adult who is attending with the Little.  Please specify the name of the adult who will be attending with the youth and their relationship to the youth (Big Sister, parent/guardian). Registration and waivers must be received by February 20.

Big Learning Series: Substance Abuse Training

Date: March 6, 6-7pm

To provide further information to you as a volunteer in regards to substance abuse so you are better equipped to share your knowledge with your Little and answer questions they may have, this volunteer only training will cover information about current drug trends among children and teens, discuss the signs and symptoms to look for and will also go over how to talk to your Little about substance abuse. Facilitated by the Arizona National Guard.

    Something happens during winter that many people dislike: the days shrink and the nights seem to last forever (it is good for vampires). Luckily, like many things, there’s a wonderful silver lining ... star gazing. Those cold, crisp, long nights start early. You don’t have to stay up really late to see the planets and stars.
