Volunteers Needed: Phoenix Coyotes 50/50 Raffle
We are looking for a few good adult volunteers, 18 or older, to help us raise funds during the Phoenix Coyotes 50/50 Raffle on Thursday, March 8. Sell $2 tickets and half of the proceeds will go to the winner of the raffle and the other 50% will help support our mentoring programs.
If you are interested in volunteering please call or email Scott Weesner at (602) 393-4133 or sweesner@bbbsaz.org.
He will need your name, and an emergency contact number. Volunteers must inform Scott of their interest by February 23rd.
The Phoenix Coyotes will not provide the sellers with admission tickets to the game.* Each seller will check-in as a game night volunteer at 5p.m. with Gate 3 security. Tickets for guests with our group, not selling raffle tickets - but interested in attending the game, will be available in advance at a discounted rate. Tickets are based upon availability.

Our New Partner: Peter Piper Pizza A note from CEO Frank Sbordone
I am very pleased that Peter Piper Pizza has joined the ranks of supporters for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Young people are an integral part of our restaurants, and Big Brothers Big Sisters offers them friendship, guidance and encouragement that truly makes a difference in their lives. We strive to provide a positive environment for families at Peter Piper Pizza, and we welcome Bigs and Littles into our dining rooms and gamerooms as a fun place to share laughter and build relationships. Our partnership has several facets. Peter Piper Pizza is the title sponsor of the Central Arizona chapter’s Bowl for Kids' Sake with a sponsorship of $30,000. We also held our own corporate bowling event in October to get our team members involved, and raised more than $18,000. Our team members have been encouraged to become a Big Brother or Sister and we’ve hosted formal recruitment events this fall to raise awareness of the need for Bigs in the West Valley, and Littles in the East Valley.
Glendale, Arizona was home to the very first Peter Piper Pizza in 1973, and now we have more than 50 restaurants across the state. Our Restaurant Support Center has been located in Scottsdale since 1998. We’re grateful for more than three decades of support from this community, and we’re very excited to give back in a meaningful way.
The Jack in the Box Foundation
The Jack in the Box Foundation is continuing to expand the Big Brothers Big Sisters High School Bigs Program for the 2006-2007 school year. A grant from the Foundation is providing $8,790 to BBBSAZ to support our High School Bigs initiative. $1,000 of this grant will be used for volunteer recognition, specifically honoring an outstanding High School Big. | | |
